Nutrition and Mobility are critical elements for the success of an overall athlete’s performance for the team, for the game and for life. Club Cruz includes these components as part of our developmental program.
Dr. Karen Harrington, MD, leads the nutrition program for Club Cruz. As a physician for 20 years, as well as a former semi-professional cyclist and coach of the UCSC cycling program, she has a track record of success with her athletes and their nutrition regime.
She and members of the Club Cruz coaching staff, have created the nutrition program utilized at games, as well as providing suggested nutritional guidelines for the players while they are training.
“At Santa Cruz Spine and Sport we are a like-minded group of Chiropractors, Personal Trainers, Yoga Instructors, and Massage Therapists who come together to help you move well. We do this through correcting dysfunctional movement patterns and releasing restrictions in the fascia, muscles, tendons, and joints capsules. By teaching proper movement patters and engaging the proper muscle groups, patients find that their pain decreases and they are able to go back to their daily activities. We listen, we care, and we get results.”- Santa Cruz Spine and Sport
Club Cruz has partnered with Santa Cruz Spine and Sport, led by Dr. Justin McCloud, to provide free consultations to parents of Club Cruz players, to identify physical motion issues that may cause injuries. If parents are interested, they may work directly with SSPS to undergo treatment.
Dr. McCloud has helped Club Cruz Co-founder Carson Kelly’s family members for the last 5 years, with incredible results.
Club Cruz also recognizes the power of Yoga Asana for benefits of movement, muscle suppleness, and overall good health. Yoga instruction may be provided to our Club players along with exercises players are encouraged to perform on their own.
