Westley “Tapan” grew up in Santa Cruz and attended Mount Madonna School. Tapan started playing volleyball in the 6th grade at Mount Madonna School and played through high school there. During this time he also played for Summit Volleyball Club for five years. Tapan played as an Outside Hitter, Setter and Opposite during this time. Tapan also played Men’s Club volleyball from 2010-12 as an Outside Hitter and Opposite at UC Santa Barbara. He now plays beach volleyball and has been playing since 2006. Tapan has gotten to play beach in Southern California, Maui and Santa Barbara.
Tapan received his AA at Cabrillo College with a focus in History and Early Childhood Education. He continued his education at UC Santa Barbara where he majored in History with a focus on European history since 1648 and graduated in 2012. Currently Tapan is working as a licensed Realtor® and coaching for Club Cruz.
When he isn’t working Tapan enjoys time exploring nature, fostering quality time with good friends, continuing to learn and grow, and taking advantage of opportunities to make the world a little bit better.
